Imagine you’re me, you get up and go to work, click clack at your desk, join a meeting, get up to use the bathroom, you go to wash your hands and only after lathering the soap into your palms do you realize that there’s a honeycomb printed on the new soap bottle. You’re (I’m) allergic to honey…..

Adapting to 25

I’m 25 now, and it feels no different from 10, 15, 20. They were all significant, because zeroes and fives mark milestones or whatever, and this one is hitting me the same as any other. I’m another year older, and my brain is apparently done growing (but I was born 8 days late so maybe it was done a few weeks ago…). I was able to take the day itself off and spend it all with my partner around the city, he took to me to museums and parks and lunch at our favorite ramen spot. My mom sent me an edible arrangement that we demolished as soon as it arrived. All in all, a good 25.

Masters of Death by Olivie Blake
Masters of Death by Olivie Blake

Maybe I started this, review? collection of my thoughts post read? wrong. Masters of Death appealed to me honestly, because of how gorgeous the cover was. The green contrasting with the purple, and the skelly tightrope? I don’t know, it was so pretty I couldn’t not read it (don’t judge a book by its cover went over my head…). Let’s just say, lesson learned. Death starts us off as the narrator, and he begins to tell us the story of how he was tricked into becoming a father. Death being the narrator is something I should’ve kept in the forefront of my brain while reading, but I let that slip past me and it likely affected how I felt about the rest of the book.
