Last Week of March (Madness)

I don’t watch basketball but it is Wednesday, the month is almost over, I’m a book short of staying on track for my year’s reading goal, I have a mountain of homework, spreadsheets to pour over for work, oh and my moms taxes. When did the last week of March get so long!! It’s my own fault, I put things off for so long. A nap here, an excuse to lay in bed longer there, and suddenly it’s the last week of the month and I’m scrambling.

This year’s progress! I get a notification every morning that I’m one book away from staying on track, storygraph taunts me

٭(•﹏•)٭. Most of the books in my list are Anne Rice novels, I want to finally finish the Vampire Chronicles that I started 3 years ago. I have 5 books left in her series, which puts me at 12 for the year, leaving me 23 books to find on my own, without Anne’s influence.

But did I pick up the 11th book in the series I’m reading to try and close out my month? NOPE! I chose ‘Never Whistle At Night’, which you can see in my current reads list up top. I ate through 127 pages yesterday, putting me at a crisp 30% of the way through. Most of it on the train, and just a little bit at home when I manage not to lay around. My partner and I agreed to tackle our homework together after dinner later tonight, luckily I’ve already cooked for the week, love a reheat night, so that’s two tallies off my list.

Spreadsheets…. those are less fun. It’s our slow season, high tension low reward, and I can’t say I’m not excited to see the month come to a close.

April brings more sneezing, more rain, but at least it’s fresh :)
