teriyaki salmon :)

2 servings, approx 40 min prep + cook

monday night dinners are my favorite thing to cook, since i get home from work well after 6. getting to cook helps me destress after a long day, and i love sharing what i make :)

ingredients

  • 1.5 cups white rice

  • 2 pieces of salmon

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp mirin

  • 2 tbsp cooking sake

  • 1 tbsp white sugar

  • 2 cups frozen broccoli

  • 4 tbsp bulgogi sauce

  • sesame seeds

  • sesame oil

  • japanese bbq sauce

first, i wash my rice until the water runs clear, and set it to cook in my rice cooker

once i get my salmon washed, i sprinkle lemon pepper and garlic powder on top, and place it to fry in sesame oil (my salmon didn’t have skin, but if yours does fry it skin side down 7 min, 5 min once flipped)

as your salmon is frying, place your broccoli and bulgogi sauce in a separate pan to defrost and absorb the sauce (about 6 min with medium heat, lid on)

mix your sauce in a separate bowl while using your partner to keep your curious cat at a distance

after you flip your salmon, pour your teriyaki sauce over it and let it simmer for the rest of your cooking time!

once your salmon, broccoli, and rice is finished, plate it how you like, drizzle japanese bbq sauce, top with sesame seeds, and enjoy!

let me know if you tried this recipe and how it turned out for you :)
